I would purchase a home for my entire family to vacation in. I think just purchasing homes 'for the heck of it' is a very consumer-mania-american way of thinking.
Of course I would! Real estate is a great investment.
My in laws have a second home in the mountains - it is so nice to have somewhere to go to escape and relax for a few days.
I'd rather travel a bunch. They only way I would buy another home is if I was pitching in for a home that our extended family would use. Too much responsibility to take care of.
Definitely! of course, i would need a first house (i live in an apt), but on days like today, where it dumps 4 inches of snow at the end of march, i'd love to jet off to a second house in,
say, arizona. or on the beach. yay, sunshine.
I definitely would... I'd have one home here in the city and one in Florida with the rest of my family - if I was really well off I'd have a Caribbean estate somewhere so I can vacation...
I would have an apartment here in San Francisco, an apartment on the beach in Conil de la Frontera, Spain and a country house in the campo de Cordoba, Spain.
Vacations! having one house is a lot to keep up with, having a busy work schedule and all, why would i want two??? instead, why not go on vacation to places that you DONT have to clean?
Definitely. One in the city and one in the woods plus the one I have now which is somewhere in the middle. I'd be traveling all the time if money were no object.
I WISH I could've bought the studio apartment in London that I had. It would have been the most ideal piede-a-terre for when I get back (but I kept the key to the crescent's private gardens,
hehehe). But I was buying my flat in San Francisco at the time, and so money was definitely an issue! But no complaints, I love having my *one* property
If I had the $, I'd have a house on the beach in San Diego, a loft in San Francisco, a place in Seattle and Manhattan, a house in Vancouver, and homes in Italy, Ireland, Kauai, Japan, etc...
the list could go on and on...
i have mixed feelings - considering environmental impact, i think it is sort of ridiculous to have more than one home...yet, i sometimes wish i could have a summer and winter home since i
hate being too hot, so i'd go somewhere else in summer...but i'd like to spend the money on travelling, too. ah. it is a toss-up! oh, but i think it'd be cool to have a second home for more
income - like let it out or something?
if i did...i'd choose a place in either India (cheaper homes and well-made and just so nice), or in europe, like a cottage in the UK.
my roomie's parents have 3 homes in interior BC (cabin on the lake), Calgary (a mansion!), and a trailer-park spot in Arizona ...plus they travel to mexico for a few months of the year! they
are hardly ever at each place!! makes me so mad...
I would buy two just because I'm constantly trying to decide if I want a condo or a house. Condo or house. Condo or house. I prefer to have an amazing view, doorman, 24/7 security and
concierge, but I also want a private pool, more privacy, and greater leeway with decorating. If I could afford both, (and to frequently travel to and from both and a cat nanny to come with
me) I'd get a house by the beach and a condo with an awesome view. I wouldn't get a house in any place exotic because I'd prefer to vacation to those.
Yes, I think real estate is a great investment and a wonderful "write-off." I own my home in Denver and will shortly begin construction on a second home in Santa Fe. The real estate market
prices in Santa Fe remain high and it will be the type of home that I can easily offer up for housing exchange with people in other cities and/or other countries, etc. I will also enjoy this
home immensely.
I would rather invest my money in real estate rather than investing in the stock market; I know I will see a great return on my money. This second home will also enable me to have an entirely
different aesthetic than my Denver home, which I love. My Denver home is a historic Victorian and my Santa Fe home will be an eco-friendly modern home and I know I will love having both.
Besides, I chose this second location because I have a great community of friends down in Santa Fe, the land is beautiful as it borders on National Forest land, my dogs LOVE it down there and
also have many friends in that community, and I can hop in my car and be there in an easy, beautiful, scenic 5.5 hour drive or I can fly. I prefer the drive because the dogs can come with me.
Having these two homes does not hold me back from traveling because I am a constant traveller. In the future, I hope to have a third home either in Italy or France. Who knows? Home is where
your heart is.
I would love to have a house in Napa for weekends in the Spring and Summer. I would KILL to have a apartment in Paris. Other than that if I have the money to roll with multiple houses I am
rolling thru some 5 stars hotels & resorts!!
My fiance's parents have a home on the lake where they live, and they own a condo at a ski resort, and a cabin on their hunting property.. i'm all for it !
hmm, at first i thought "of course - why the heck not?!", but i think having one house you know is your real home you can always come back to would be the nicest. now, if money weren't an
issue, i would definitely travel and stay at many different luxurious hotels and resorts, but i don't think i would actually purchase many other houses of my own.
If money weren't an object, I would get together with an architect and would plan a green hideaway in the mountains somewhere near a freshwater spring in southern NSW/northern Victoria
(Australia). It would have photovoltaic cells for power, water tanks and greywater recycling for water and would use the wood and granite from the site for the walls and flooring. A small,
but sustainable green home. A private delight blending in with the bushland away from the city.

Who wouldn't?
1I bought my first home in Jan this year. In 4-5 years, I shall purchase a bigger home and rent out my current shoebox
2No.
3I don't even own a house now! I would rather get out and see the world then just have another home. Maybe I would own a boat instead.
4I'd certainly do it, but I need to build up to where I can afford the first one first!
5I would purchase a home for my entire family to vacation in. I think just purchasing homes 'for the heck of it' is a very consumer-mania-american way of thinking.
6I like the boat idea...
7Of course I would! Real estate is a great investment.

9Of course I would!
10Somewhere in Europe...
Of course. I would have a house in Los Angeles and Las Vegas and probably one on an island and in europe. i need to hit the lottery bad!
11Yes, I would like one overseas.
12More vacations!
13Definitely! of course, i would need a first house (i live in an apt), but on days like today, where it dumps 4 inches of snow at the end of march, i'd love to jet off to a second house in, say, arizona. or on the beach. yay, sunshine.
14buying property is a great investment
15i own one and am buying a second!
Yes, my own little tuscan villa
16We've considered it and will probably buy a summer house at some point. I wouldn't mind having a house in the US.
17of course!!!!! some place tropical.

23Absolutely. I think real estate is a smart investment. But on a less practical side, houses are just fun!
24If I had the $, I'd have a house on the beach in San Diego, a loft in San Francisco, a place in Seattle and Manhattan, a house in Vancouver, and homes in Italy, Ireland, Kauai, Japan, etc... the list could go on and on...
25I don't know. I'm not opposed to a second home, but I'd have to buy a first home first and I'd just play it by ear from there....

31I think that if money wasn't an issue but if it was, there are way more worthwhile things to spend your money on...

35Buying a lot of properties is a wiser investment than buying a lot of cars that just depreciate in value. I would so buy all over the world.
