Here's a cute little blue-tiled kitchen that seems functional enough, but isn't anything too spectacular.

To see what it looked like after renovations, just read more.

Architect Jerri Holan made her own kitchen more expansive by taking down doors, rethinking the size of large appliances (and ultimately replacing them with smaller ones), and replacing one solid wall behind the stove with a half-wall. To see a slideshow of all of the details, check out the gallery on This Old House.

Wow! What a difference!
1Great renovation but not digging the mustard-yellow tiles.
2Big improvement, but I agree with Rosa. The mustard yellow, not so much. With the blue trim it looks like vintage McDonalds.
3What a fab renovation. I like mustard yellow, but I'm weird like that. I'm not a huge fan of tiled counters though. They're a pain to keep clean.
4This is a big improvement and I love the color.
5Love the tiles on the wall, but I don't like the countertop ones. They are hard to clean and seem like too much. But, overall, it does look so much better than before.
6Awesome!
7It's a fab redo, and kept in mind the colors and the period of the house. The original wall faucet was a smart choice.
8I don't like the mustard-y yellow. The rest of the space looks much better though.
9I liked the blue so much better and I like the old cabinets better too. I would have just liked the pulls changed and some swanky photography. The blue was so nice and clean looking.
10very pretty... maybe a little too much yellow though
11What a difference! It looks so much better!!!
12i really like the cabinets! im not a fan of all the yellow but for someone who is it would be perfect!
13LOVE the color
