Dutch born Tejo Remy's 'You Can't Lay Down Your Memory' Chest of Drawers, designed in 1991, is part of the MOMA's permanent collection. It's a group of found drawers strapped together to create a single cluster of drawers, made of metal, paper, plastic, burlap, contact paper, and paint. You can purchase a unique, made-to-order set, one of only 200, for $51,616 at Retro Modern. What do you think?

Ugly as sin.
Too clustery for me!
Why?
Ridiculous. That's stealing $51,616 from someone...
ITA w/the first poster: It's ugly as sin! What a waste of money. Just more clutter and literally junk.
It's kinda fun and interesting but not for that price.
That thing is hilarious and freaking awesome as sh*t dude!
I would own that if I could afford such an atrocity just because it cracks me the hell up!
Oh yeah, why is it $51,616? Why not just round up or down to a nice normal figure, hello??? That price alone is annoying enough!
hell no. fug and too unorganized for me.
Maybe The Cat In The Hat would like it, but to me it looks like something out of a child's nightmare!
You know what, I love it. Simply because it made me laugh when I saw it.
why? indeed.
I like it! It's not practical, and it's way overpriced. But it would look so cool in a really simply decorated room.
I think that I am so stunned by the price that I almost forgot to commend on how ridiculous an idea it is to charge someone ANY sum of money for that ugly thing! Are they crazy?
Undecided. It's too interesting and fun to hate, just wouldn't want it for myself (and sure as h@ll wouldn't want to pay for it!!)
Hate it.
Clever and stunning. This is a high design, not mass production. It's amazing, lovely, and humorous- what a great combination.
I love how you can throw anything and everything together, no matter how ugly, call it art, and charge people out the butt for it.
maybe i should glue all of my unworn shoes together and see if MoMA will buy them...
No thanks...
brilliant!
I like the concept of piecing together random drawers, and I even like the strap thing, but the drawers have to be straight and level. What the crap would you be able to use crooked drawers for? I voted hate based on it's price and the fact that half the thing isn't even viable for real use.
Very good, I liked it.
