With a Pirouttes tin left over from my gingerbread house project, and decorative paper left over from my Ikea hack, as well as some scissors and rubber cement, I revived something with a brief shelf life. To see my cookie jar redux, read more.
Storage for my cooking utensils! Just like my Ikea hack, all it required was a few strokes of rubber cement and paper cut to size. And, I cut a strip of another piece of paper for the rim, to make it a little more interesting. Do you have any tins, containers, or furniture you can makeover with a little paper love?

I actually have project that I want to do. I need a store with a large variety of decorative papers I was thinking staples maybe? Any suggestions on where to look?
1Oh, by the way, this came out really nice. I like it.
2Adorable! I'm always looking at things like tins and boxes and whatnot and thinking there must be a way to re-use them other than for unseen storage.
3@ Kristinh - Any craft store will have a variety of decorative papers, like Michael's, AC Moore, or even Walmart.
Cute idea! I use old clementine boxes to store a lot of my stuff. But I still need to give them a bit of a makeover...eventually.
4oh man, that's awesome! i'm definitely going to be looking at these ikea hack ideas when i move into my new place in a couple months.
5ooh that's great.
6It's given me loads of ideas!
If you coat it in a few coats of Modge Podge, it'll last practically forever. I did this with a Nalgene, and the 'podge made it even last through the dishwasher (only once--so I wouldn't recommend it!). But this way you can wipe the food spatters off AND protect it from dings.
7Thanks ALSW, I thought of them, I am just really picky and want to go somewhere there will be a ton of papers.
Ktcrusher, that's what my project is it's a modge podge project. It's going to be my first time trying it, but we'll see what happens.
8Cute! I'm totally going to do this.
9So cute! I'm always wondering what to do with old metal cans. This is a very good idea.
10Super cute!
11Kristinh- you may want to see if there are any scrapbooking stores in your town. They are guaranteed to have tons of paper
12Neat idea...
13That was a very good idea! I use vases to store my cooking utensils in.
14I guess I am the only one thinking about the old cookies that were in the tin.
15What the heck is modge podge?
16Very cute.
17very innovative! modge podge is a glue-like substance you can find at just about any craft store. one of its original uses is gluing together puzzles after you complete them if you want to display them. it is also great for decoupaging just about any surface since it both glues and seals the paper so that it is water resistant after drying.
