Coveted Crib: A Kid-Friendly and Stylish Home
Living Room
"As far as decorating with kids in mind, I try to blend the adult and child in every room, so that there is no room that feels like it's not available for the use of both parent and child. One way that I try and accomplish this is by having baskets and piles of books all over the place — art books, novels, children's books — so that kids and adults can plop down in the living room or family room and have a good book to look at."

This makes sense because kids always bring their stuff with them anyway. Books move from room to room so I use baskets as well to house them. Then the baskets overflow and it's time to bring some of the stuff back to their rooms or play areas.
1Is that a little kitchen set in the next room with a chalkboard wall behind it?
