When I was 20, for Christmas my father gave me my first toolbox — a tool bag, actually, filled with the essentials and more. I was a bit surprised to see it sitting under the red and green wrapping paper. But years later, still holding onto it, I have to admit it's been one of my most used gifts. If you don't have one, you should. Or, if you're looking for a tried and true gift idea, a toolbox is key.

Yes, I have one.
I have a tool kit that is better than most of my male friends. Also, unfortunately my Dad passed away recently and he had a great wealth of tools. He left them to me in his will since he knew I'd use and appreciate them. He also knew my bf would too so while I didn't want to inherit them via his death, I'm excited to have them!
My husband is in charge of the tools.
Actually, I have two tool boxes. And it's most enjoyable rubbing this in my bf's face every now and then since he only has one.
hkdat- that's so sweet!
I bought my husband a tool kit when we first bought our house (fully stocked), of course over time it's become "our" toolbox. Can't imagine living without tools in the house!
Even though my husband is the king of dyi, his mother gave me my own shiny red tool box for Christmas the year before we were married. Other family members helped provide the contents, so I could maintain my independence with home repairs to a degree.
Yes!! When I moved into my apartment my boyfriend bought me one and all the perfect tools for it.
I have two! Mostly because I cant organize...
My boyfriend and I have four. Mainly because we have a lot of tools and a tiny garage to work in.
definitely a tool box, but it's so handy.
Have had one for years now and have long since outgrown it. All my basic stuff does not fit in it! This resulted in me having 3 stud finders because I misplaced each and every one at some point. Lol. I want that one in the picture!
My dad bought me a tool box and filled it with essentials before I went away to college. I was always the one everyone in the dorm came to see if they need to borrow a screwdriver. Then this past christmas my brother updated my toolbox because the old one was over flowing.
Yes, as a homeowner it is a necessity! I couldn't live without it. I try to fix things myself, but never hesitate when the job is too big, tough or complicated to hire a licensed handyman.
I have all the contents of a toolbox, but I keep it in a pretty brown basket. I love my tools!
My parents gave me a tool bag for Christmas one year too! I also got a drill and a stepladder---I use them all the time!
My parents gave me a tool bag for Christmas one year too! I also got a drill and a stepladder---I use them all the time!
I love my tools! There is a great company that makes tools that are as high-quality as any others, but they are smaller and more ergonomic just for women. Every woman should have her own tools!
No need for tools. That's what the boyfriend is for.
I have a tool kit and a few odds and ends tools in my garage. Whatever I don't have I can borrow from my dad.
I actually need to find a bigger one because all my tools have outgrown the box I have now.
We have two toolboxes, but we don't have much use for any "serious" tools right now -- we live in a tiny little condo. No need for any saws or power tools here -- what are we going to do, set up a carpentry station in the bathroom?!
When I moved in with my boyfriend (now husband) he was impressed with how many tools I owned. I guess they way to a mans heart might not just be his stomach, your box . . . of tools!
Ok, you can laugh at me. My mom got me a Barbara K toolkit. It has all the tools I ever use and they are stored in a case that is in the shape of a purse. I'm such a girl.
My dad put together a toolbox for me after one teary frustrated incident at my new apartment when I realized I didn't have anything as my ex husband took all the tools. I will keep that old hand me down toolbox forever as it was the sweetest gesture at a really hard time in my life. Love my daddy
Oh, of course I have one. Two actually. I'm a scenic carpenter and stage manager my profession. I have one full of 'essential' tools for the carpentry, and one full of 'essential' life/rehearsal items for the stage managing. I think the latter tool box is honestly my most prized possession.
Who needs boys for using tools? Certainly not me!
yes, i do and we use it a few times a week.
My dad gave me one when I moved into my new apartment. It was part of a very dad care package for the new place - tools, toilet paper, shower curtain hooks, and a bunch of diet soda. All of it was very useful.
I love how all the daddy's out there are hooking up their girls with tools! My dad gave me my first tool box. It was very basic and I have since upgraded. The other day, he asked if he could switch out his green tape measure for my yellow tape measure because the yellow one would match his tools better. Awww!
I have two tool boxes and an old dresser to hold the larger tools (drills, dremel, sander, etc.).
I actually got mine this past Christmas.. with a drill! I'm quite excited about it, since it's come in handy when I moved into my first apartment by myself
)
My dad set me up with one as a graduation present (from high school) before I went to college. I use it all the time and I can't imagine how people don't have one!
My sister's boyfriend gave me one for Christmas this year! He called it my "tool purse" though, haha, because he thought the heavy-duty canvas bag my sister picked out was too girly.
my boyfriend got me one when i went to college! he gave me a bunch of really useful stuff too like he gave me a garbage bin, a bunch of extension cords, blank dvds, light bulbs, and other stuff. he's the best! even though i don't know how to use most of the tools, i like having my toolbox.
Yes, I have a small one that my father bought me a couple of years ago. But my husband, of course, has a giant one filled with every tool imaginable.
All of my tools are from Tomboy Tools - they are the same quality as "mens'" tools, but are smaller and more ergonomic for women. I would never go back to anything else!
Hell yes! I have one at home, and I put one together at the office too. The guys at work mocked the idea of having an office tool box, but they're continually finding uses for all of the tools.
