A couple of months ago, I snapped this photo of a neon light chandelier in a beat-box themed San Francisco bar called Double Dutch. The glam shape of the chandelier crossed with the sleazy, strip club associations of the neon lights immediately caught my eye. It was a perfect match for the hip-hop roots of the place, which was otherwise notably low-budge — a kitschy Lite-Brite above the bar, consignment boom boxes lining the DJ booth, and a high-top sneaker on display. Surprisingly, the 3D neon chandelier is actually from Atelier Abigail Ahern ($3,770), an eclectic, style conscious shop in London. Who would have thunk it?
