I don't like the word "maid" which implies to me someone who is at your beck and call. I don't want to be waited on. I think of it as a housekeeper. We have someone come in once a month. It
prevents arguments. If money weren't an object I'd have them come once a week.
My roommates and I have a cleaning service come twice a month to our house, and it's fantastic! We tried doing a weekly rotation of chores, but since we're all pretty busy professionals,
and there are four of us, the mess and neglect combined to make housekeeping pretty overwhelming. Now, the fact that there are four of us is an advantage--we each only pay a quarter of
the cost and so it's really affordable!
as long as you can afford it and you treat your housekeepers with respect i see no problem with it. i personally don't mind doing some of the normal household chores, but if i could afford
for someone to come in and dust and vacuum for me, i'd do it in a heartbeat haha. i however would rather buy shoes so yeah.
Oh yeah I would...I hate to clean, plus doing laundry (even just the sheets and towels) would be such a blessing. Only thing is, the people I know who do have housekeepers always clean before
they come, which cracks me up!
We have a maid at home and we treat her like a part of the family. We do clean up after ourselves, but she does the heavy duty cleaning, the laundry and the ironing.
i had a housecleaner come out when i was post partum with my second child. it was heaven. she used all natural cleaning products and my tub was so clean afterwards. and the stove. i am hoping
to do that again after my next child. or maybe have someone come out and help me do a deep clean beforehand.
We use Merry Maids to come once a week. It's really not that expensive, and they do a good job (I'm very picky). I HATE cleaning, and after breaking down in tears after mopping the kitchen
floor (with my Method O-mop, with which should have been at least somewhat fun to mop), I decided I'm never doing it again. Actually, my boyfriend decided for me, saying I just wasn't meant
to have to clean. I pick up after myself, and I'm tidy in general, but for the weekly chores, Merry Maids gets it done! And I prefer to call them housekeepers also, even though they have
"maids" in their name.
Oh, my goodness! I wish I could afford to bring someone in EVERY DAY--kinda like a hotel where they come in, make my bed, and clean up after me every day.
we just canceled marry maids about 2 months ago i have a lot more to do now, but i can keep
up. not that i want to, lol. my girls were thinking that everyone had a cleaning service (?) they can help some now, in theory anyway.
I actually enjoy cleaning. However, I hate the bathrooms! Even if I had tons of money I would still need to clean, but I would def hire someone to clean my toilets!
If I could afford it then yes o yes. As soon as I can afford it somebody will be here too clean! I would like to have help in many ways in the future including a housekeeper and a nanny. I'm
not to good to clean up after my self, I actually like it. But even now at a early age I have no time so I can't imagine how it will be later on with kids and so on.
My aunt from LA has a housekeeper...i went to stay with her a few summers ago...at first I didnt feel right having someone doing things for me. But my aunt made me use her maids service cause
she said thats what she paid her for. So I gave in little by little. The housekeeper was the best! She will have breakfast ready for me in the morning do my dishes while im eatting she would
make my bed, she would do all my laundry and the ironing. I felt really guility about being so lazy all summer, so I left her a hefty tip b4 I went home. (i totally i wanted to take her with
me, but i know i wont be able to afford her)
I think i would feel weird having someone in my house cleaning while i was there. But i would love to have someone come in maybe once a month and give it a good cleaning.
My parents hired a once-a-week maid when my siblings and I were young, but my mom made us clean up BEFORE the maid came! She didn't want anyone to think we were messy slobs
I would consider hiring someone, but just for really deep cleaning every couple of weeks. I don't mind doing the little things, like vacuuming and dusting.
I love cleaning, but I just realized the other day I only love cleaning because I have to. I'm a neat freak. I have to young children and between them and their father, it's almost impossible
to keep my house clean (the way I love it). So I've made myself enjoy cleaning since I have to do it constantly.
BUT I think I could definitely get used to NOT liking it! So Yes, I would hire a maid. absolutely.
On one hand I'd love be able to pay someone else to clean...on the other I find cleaning to be somewhat theraputic. Plus I'm one of those types who is a total germaphobe and feels like I need
to do the cleaning myself in order to feel like it's done "right".
yes. there are services that use eco-friendly products here so i'd use them if i could. i clean everyday but i just can't get it as clean as i'd like to without devoting several more hours to
do so. i'd want them to do the bathroom (not that messy but takes me an hour to do every week) and mop and maybe dust.
Sometimes I enjoy cleaning but I would totally hire someone to do the work I hate - ironing, changing beds, cleaning the oven and fridge freezer, cleaning the floors. There wouldn't be much
left for me to do....
I definitely would that way I could focus on organizing and de-cluttering and not worry about the laundry and cleaning the bathrooms. It would be great.

1My parents (who are far from the "money is no object" crowd) have a housekeeper come in once a week. I'd totally do it too.
2i have so many other things that i prefer to do with my time...i would definitely have a maid!!!

5I'm not a slob so I would just need them to do the actual "cleaning". I hate the bathrooms the most so that would be a must for them!
6Oh yeah I would...I hate to clean, plus doing laundry (even just the sheets and towels) would be such a blessing. Only thing is, the people I know who do have housekeepers always clean before they come, which cracks me up!
7Hell yes! Cleaning is down near the bottom of my list of least favorite things to do...it's right below getting a root canal.
8I wouldn't want anyone having to de-clutter my personal stuff, but I wouldn't mind someone cleaning my bathtub or vacuuming.
9um, excuse me but.... money IS an issue, and I'm still going to find a way to hire a maid!
Once a month cleaning of the bathrooms and the white tile floor will help me stay sane and have at least one work-free weekend a month.
If I could afford once a week, you better believe I would. We have a slobbery boxer and live near the beach - Place dirties up FAST!
10I have a cleaning lady that comes to my apartment twice a month. It is fabulous!
11We have a maid at home and we treat her like a part of the family. We do clean up after ourselves, but she does the heavy duty cleaning, the laundry and the ironing.
12"A" maid? Try a team of housekeepers! LOL! And I'd pay well and offer benefits too! Somebody please, please just keep up with all our laundry!!

14Sure why not?
15Of course!

20Yes yes yes! I would have her clean the toilets as well, that's the worst job ever.
21Absolutely! I have hardly any time to do much of anything when I get off of work! I always hate spending my sparse free time cleaning!
22If I could afford it then yes o yes. As soon as I can afford it somebody will be here too clean! I would like to have help in many ways in the future including a housekeeper and a nanny. 23I would totally do it, if I could pay for it.

25Absolutely. In fact, I may go find a housekeeper right now!
26Yeah why not?
27YES!
28No cleaning for me!??!?! I would love it!

32Whoops, Vunder ........I wrote my comment before reading and you are right......Housekeeper is a much better title! I would prefer a housekeeper also!
33$50 a month... not bad. i am planing on calling her soon.
34Absolutely!
But I'd probably do some myself...I'm too obsessive about cleaning to give it up completely.
35i'm torn. while i use cleaning to de-stress, i guess if i had the money, i'd find other ways to de-stress.
36On one hand I'd love be able to pay someone else to clean...on the other I find cleaning to be somewhat theraputic. Plus I'm one of those types who is a total germaphobe and feels like I need to do the cleaning myself in order to feel like it's done "right".
