Continuing with my New Orleans theme this month, I thought it'd be appropriate to round up some fleur-de-lys home furnishings, seeing as it has been a symbol of the city since its birth. Fleurs-de-lys abound in New Orleans. Today, they top wrought-iron fences, serve as trendy baubles, brand popular clothing lines, and emblazon football helmets in the Superdome, cheeky advertisements, and even post-Katrina fridges. The history of the symbol is long and does not escape the shelter market. The lily-inspired shape has bloomed on everything from bedding and bath linens to glassware and paper towel holders. Here's a healthy dose for you:

Love those anthropologie glasses! I ordered some the other day in blue!
1I love all of it!
2I love all things Fleur!
3Not my favorite motif, but my sister LOVES Fleur-de-Lis. I'll have to show her these finds!
4I would NEVER put that in my house!!!! Here in Québec it has a big political connotation. Just check the provincial flag. I'd rather a big, old maple leaf on my cushions!
5I love all things Fleur de Lys including jewerly, with all these beautiful furnishings you need some jewerly from Alders Jewerly.
6The best Fleur de lis jewelry is from Mignon Faget!
7I found biggest collection of Fleur de Lis jewelry I ever saw at a shop on Magazine Street-- Fleur de Orleans
