Decorating any home is no easy task — it's a process that requires at least seven steps. But decorating a rental presents even more obstacles. I can live with dated cabinetry and retro light fixtures, but I just can't put up with those beige rental walls. I've managed to find several landlords who don't mind me painting, but I know we don't all have the luxury.
So, I couldn't help but pass along this trick from Camila of High-Heeled Foot in the Door. Decorating her sister's new rental apartment, Camila used 2-inch black electrical tape to create the effect of painted stripes. The walls look much like my black and white striped powder room, but being easily removable, the tape is landlord-friendly. Check out her post for tips on laying down your stripes.
